MSSWA Summer Book Club The Violence Project: How to Stop a Mass Shooting Epidemic You are invited to join the MSSWA Summer Book Club for a meaningful professional learning opportunity with colleagues across the state. This summer we will be reading The Violence Project: How to Stop a Mass Shooting Epidemic (2022) by Dr. Jillian Peterson and Dr. James Densley of Hamline University. This book study will include three live virtual discussion sessions focused on exploring the research presented in the book and reflecting on its implications for school safety, prevention, and the role of school social workers. The 3 live sessions are on the following dates from 9-10am. June 10, 2026 (Discuss Chapters 1-3)July 22, 2026 (Discuss Chapters 4-6) August 12, 2026 (Discuss Chapters 7-9) Participants are required to attend all three live sessions in order to receive 10 General CEUs.Participants are also responsible for purchasing their own copy of the book prior to the start of the book club.
